Alex has had a number of other famous colleagues during her time on the show's green couch, including Chris Evans from 2010 to 2015 and briefly Jason Manford in her debut year.
Matt Baker is Alex's longest serving co-host, departing The One Show in 2020 after nine years.
While last year saw the departure of former footballer Jermain Jenas, who had worked with Alex for three years prior to being dismissed by the BBC.
Fresh off of finishing in second place in last year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing, JLS' JB Gill made his One Show presenting debut on Wednesday, having provided reports for the show in the past.
Introducing JB, a cheery Alex said: "Welcome to mid-week One Show and look who's by my side, we've stolen him from JLS. It's JB Gill!"
The 38-year-old London native replied: "They'll be fine without me. It's a pleasure to be here and what a treat of a show we've got lined up for you."
In a show which saw the pair joined by the Hairy Bikers' Si King and nature broadcaster Steve Backshall, JB revealed on his Instagram account that he spotted a picture of JLS on the show in the studio.
"Dropping into The One Show, hosting my first show tonight and look what who I've seen on the walls. Come on," he told his fans.
JB is no stranger to the world of television, having risen to fame as part of JLS on the X-Factor in 2008, with the group finishing second behind Alexandra Burke.
Going on to achieve five UK number one singles, win two Brit awards and sell over 10 million records worldwide, recent years have seen JB turn his attention to presenting.
With a background in turkey farming, JB began his presenting career on CBeebies nature programme Down on the Farm, which he hosted with Storm Huntly.
