FMs of Kyrgyzstan, Germany discuss wide range of issues of cooperation

Bishkek, Jan. 18, 2019. /Kabar/. A bilateral meeting took place in Berlin between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov and Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues of the Kyrgyz-German cooperation was discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Aidarbekov noted the importance of further strengthening the political dialogue and expanding cooperation in all areas of interaction of mutual interest.

In turn, Maas expressed satisfaction with the development of mutual relations over the years of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Germany, positively noted the democratic path of development of Kyrgyzstan and expressed Germany’s readiness for further close cooperation in various areas of interaction, including in a multilateral format of cooperation.

The ministers discussed the organization of mutual visits at the highest and high levels and the possibility for holding them in 2019.

Aidarbekov invited Maas to pay a return visit to Kyrgyzstan.

Moreover, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aidarbekov held a meeting with Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Niels Annen and discussed in detail ways to strengthen cooperation between the two states in political, diplomatic, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and educational areas. The sides stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the framework of the European Union Strategy for Central Asia, as well as international organizations. An exchange of views on issues of regional interaction and international matters took place.
