Jesse Cook, a brilliant guitarist and composer from Canada, is coming to Wroclaw as part of the tour promoting his latest album “Beyond Borders”. His only concert in Poland will take place on 14th November at the National Forum of Music.
For over 20 years the artist has enjoyed immense popularity, in such countries as Canada, the USA and Saudi Arabia. Every year he is garnering a growing fun base in Poland. His music is a unique fusion of many genres, and he himself admits to drawing inspiration from a multitude of sources, such as: flamenco rumba, Latin American music, Hindu music or Arab music.
Even though Jesse Cook, does not play the typical flamenco, he was named the second, after Paco de Lucia, best flamenco guitarist in 2009 by “Acoustic Guitar”. The characteristic sound of the acoustic guitar, along with the powerful and varied rhythm section of the Cuban Chenda Leon and the expressive violin of Chris Church are all present in the latest album. Moreover, the guitarist experiments with new technologies, which brings more variety into the concerts. On a November evening, this guitarist – globetrotter, will yet again take us on a long journey across exotic countries, such as those in the Middle East and Latin America.
Cook, in the course of exploring world music, has performed with such artists as Afro Celt Sound System, The Chieftains as well as Nicolas Reyes, the vocalist of Gipsy Kings, with whom as a teenager, he used to jam on the roof of his father's house. He has opened concerts of the greatest legends of jazz and blues, such as  B.B. King, Ray Charles, Diana Krall, and his compositions have been used in the TV series “Sex and the City” as well as in the popular programme  The Chris Isaak Show. So far the artist has recorded 12 albums.
Cook's performance is a combination of great energy and emotion, his charismatic personality and sense of humor as well as an excellent music technique.
